Lagos Life game: starting money and first upgrades

▶Watch: Your first home and mapStart at 3:49 · StigToon

In the Lagos Life game, the Mushin home starts with ₦16,000 cash, ₦2,400 base weekly rent and basic furniture. A Laptop Desk costs ₦18,000, beyond that home cash budget. Reserving one unpaid rent bill leaves ₦13,600: a ₦1,700 Standing Mirror fits that budget, while the laptop still needs ₦4,400 more before food or journeys.

LAPO's ₦60,000 is already included in the ₦76,000 wallet. In a period with one ₦2,400 rent bill and one ₦12,000 collection still to pay, buying the laptop leaves ₦43,600 before other costs. Nepo also starts with Charisma 2 and a Prado. The birth lottery assigns these starts; the UNILAG fresher has separate student rules.

Your starter stove can Cook Jollof from the pantry. One pot uses one pantry unit each of rice, Gino, Maggi and oil, takes 60 game minutes and restores 65 Hunger. The Mushin starting stock supports two pots before replenishing rice and tomato. Use the Lagos Life beginner guide for the first-session sequence and the needs guide for meals and recovery actions.

Lagos Life jobs and salaries: compare the first pay level

Compare 33 Lagos Life careers by city, entry skill and workdays. Tech Intern starts at ₦9,900 base full-shift pay; Banking Marketer starts at ₦11,600. Five completed Monday–Friday shifts produce ₦49,500 or ₦58,000 respectively before bonuses, tax and commuting. These are base-pay scenarios, not a promise that every receipt matches the career card.

Open Phone → Jobs / Career → Go to work. Start on a rostered workday from 06:00 to before 22:00, in the workplace's city. One started shift uses that workday, including a shift you leave early. Travel, jail, serious illness or an existing shift blocks clock-in. The active work timer uses game minutes; the career's office timetable is a separate schedule.

Tech's first promotion needs Coding 1 and performance 100; the next needs Coding 3. Promotion is checked when the shift ends, including an early departure. The shift you just ended uses the earlier title's salary; the new salary applies to later shifts. Product Management is different: Coding 3 opens entry, but Charisma advances the career.

The Lagos Life jobs and salary finder compares each career's five titles and entry gates. The work and partial-pay guide separates completion, bonuses, deductions and commute charges when your receipt differs from the displayed salary.

How to make money in Lagos Life: compare gigs and cash kept

Help at the Buka at Amala Shitta pays ₦1,750 base for 90 game minutes. Carry Load at Balogun Market pays ₦2,250 base for 120 game minutes and trains Fitness. Neither starts with a laptop purchase, but travel and restoring the needs used by the action affect the cash you keep. A ₦2,250 payment with ₦300 spent on the round trip leaves ₦1,950 before other spending.

Home Freelance Gig requires Coding 2 and a Laptop Desk. At Coding 2 its base formula gives ₦4,300 for 180 game minutes; five such gross receipts total ₦21,500 against the desk's ₦18,000 purchase. That equipment comparison omits food, power and other action costs. CcHub has its own Freelance Gig: Coding 2, 120 game minutes and a different earnings formula.

For bills, use money actually received. Starting with ₦16,000, adding a ₦2,900 receipt and subtracting ₦150 commute, ₦2,400 unpaid rent and ₦500 food leaves ₦15,850. A bill already reflected in starting cash is excluded from this subtraction. The Lagos Life budget calculator makes the same distinction between money still to arrive and costs still unpaid.

The Lagos Life money guide compares home equipment, skill requirements for paid actions and venue gigs. Once a bigger purchase is affordable, the business payback calculator compares net proceeds per collection, including operating costs.

Lagos Life skills: train the action your career needs

The nine Lagos Life skills are Cooking, Charisma, Fitness, Coding, Music, Hustle, Dance, Comedy and Photography. At home, leave Buy mode, select the furniture, and choose the action: Practice Coding on a Laptop Desk, Practice Speech at a Standing Mirror, or Read Business Book at a Bookshelf. A laptop's Run Instagram Shop trains Hustle; it is a different action from Practice Coding.

A Laptop Desk costs ₦18,000 and Practice Coding takes 120 game minutes. A Standing Mirror costs ₦1,700 for Charisma practice, a Dumbbell Rack ₦3,400 for Fitness, and a Bookshelf ₦3,600 for Hustle. Your starter Transistor Radio already supports Dance to Burna, which combines Dance training with Fun recovery while using Energy.

For a Tech Intern, work toward Coding 1 for Junior Dev, then Coding 3 for Senior Dev, alongside performance 100 at each promotion. At CcHub in Yaba, Hack on Side Project is a 120-game-minute training option without a listed minimum skill; the venue opens 08:00–23:00. A locked paid gig and an available practice action can coexist on the same object or at the same venue.

Skills cap at 10, and progress slows at higher levels. The level factor divides base skill gain by 1 at level 0, 2.2 at level 2 and 4 at level 5, before modifiers. Use the Lagos Life skills guide for all nine action pairings and the furniture catalogue for prices, footprint and power conditions.

Lagos Life housing: separate move-in cost from weekly rent

▶Watch: Adding a home in AbujaStart at 1:05 · KKC Games

Ordinary move-in charges combine two weeks' advance rent and one week's agent fee. Yaba's ₦6,000 base weekly rent gives ₦18,000 upfront; Lekki's ₦17,000 gives ₦51,000. The Yaba-to-Lekki difference is ₦33,000 upfront and ₦11,000 per later rent week. The advance covers 14 days; the agent fee does not buy a third week of coverage.

Space changes too: Mushin is 6×6, Yaba 7×7 and Lekki 10×10. Yaba adds 13 grid cells over Mushin for ₦3,600 more base rent per week. Lekki adds 64 cells over Mushin for ₦14,600 more. Compare the layout with your objects' footprints before treating a larger house as another earning source.

In a same-city move, objects that fit remain placed and the others go to Storage. Buying a home in another city retains the earlier city home and its belongings, and additional city homes still carry rent. Ordinary rent collection begins on Saturday from 09:00 on the game clock. An active shift, journey or arrears can block a move.

The Lagos Life housing and rent table covers all 15 homes. Use furniture placement, Storage and resale when a missing object or blocked tile prevents your next action.

Lagos Life map and travel: find an action before paying the fare

The location finder lists 136 places across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, with opening hours and actions. CcHub in Yaba offers Coding activities from 08:00–23:00; Amala Shitta in Surulere serves meals and Buka work from 07:00–22:00. General Hospital in Ikeja is open all day for the game treatment route when serious illness blocks work.

Local journeys can be cheaper than a furniture purchase, but repeated fares change that comparison. Coding also has local routes at Ventures Park in Abuja and Rivers State University in Port Harcourt. Search the skill or action in Lagos Life locations to see choices in the city you already occupy.

A base economy flight costs ₦90,000; Premium Economy, Business and First Class cabins cost ₦162,000, ₦360,000 and ₦810,000. The base night bus is ₦25,000. A driver road trip's ₦20,000 allowance excludes the car purchase and hiring the driver. Airports are in Ikeja, Abuja Airport Road and Omagwa; an airport journey and the intercity fare are separate charges.

Use the Lagos Life travel guide for cabin differences, transport conditions and local distance examples. The city scene shows the original game's public preview; the searchable table lists places, actions and hours from the dated game data.

Lagos Life UNILAG, Bae and city events

Ordinary UNILAG enrolment starts at ₦35,000: ₦15,000 acceptance plus ₦20,000 for the first academic level. Each level has two semesters, and a new-level fee is different from taking semester two. Exams require three lectures or tutorials, three game days since the semester started, paid level fees, an 08:00–before-20:00 start and no strike. The UNILAG guide compares course length, student costs and degree bonuses.

Ask to be my Bae opens at relationship 40, with a partner slot available. An accepted dating relationship starts the three-real-day wait before a ₦150,000 base proposal; accepted engagement starts the one-real-day wait before a ₦500,000 base wedding. Sharing a home is a separate accepted invitation. The Lagos Life Bae guide explains which player pays shared rent and what partners can use.

The Daily Gem has one real-calendar hunt per Lagos day, with rewards from ₦50,000 for first place to ₦3,000 after the first ten. Compare the next prize with your whole trip, especially when the clue suggests another city. The clue page shows a dated official snapshot and expires it at midnight Lagos time.

A Governor campaign costs ₦50,000, and voting happens at Polling Unit 001. Read the current race in the Lagos Life Governor guide. An EFCC investigation has separate file, raid and hearing stages: a pre-paid lawyer and a fee still due lead to different cash calculations, while Quilox night court follows its own immediate event.

Lagos Life questions before your next session

Where can I play Lagos Life?

The original browser game is at lagoslife.app. Use the official game link for browser entry and the Android/iPhone app guide for a home-screen shortcut. Lagos Life is a standalone game.

Why did a promotion not increase this receipt?

The shift's pay uses the earlier career level. A promotion at the end changes your later shifts' base salary, even if that just-ended shift's summary already shows the new title.

Why is bought furniture no longer in the room?

A same-city move can pack furniture that does not fit into Storage. A second-city home retains the first home's objects. Inspect Storage and both city homes before buying a replacement.

For account access, use Lagos Life login and loading help. For an unexplained transaction or old progress, the missing money and save guide separates balance reconciliation, storage and available account recovery.
